The EMT is trained to be on the front line of emergency events. EMT’s must demonstrate proficiency in handling emergencies utilizing all Basic Life Support equipment and skills as outlined in Title 22 of the Health and Safety Code. Equipment required for the course, such as stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, splinting devices and spinal boards will be provided by Link 2 Life at no additional cost to the student.

For individuals planning to obtain a higher level of medical training and become an RN, PA, or MD, this course will give you the skills and exposure you need to enhance your position for the competitive application process.

 

There is not a minimum requirement level of education for students who desire to take the Link 2 Life EMT-Basic Course in California. The only prerequisite for the EMT course is that the student has a current American Heart Association CPR/AED Healthcare Provider card.
