FIRST AID

LINK 2 LIFE Emergency Training, Inc. provides basic First Aid for the lay person. This class is taught to the standards of the EMSA and meets the requirements for daycare providers as set forth by the California Child Care Law. It includes didactic as well as skills training. Upon completion the participant will be able to identify life-threatening injuries, have the ability to assess victims and treat them based on their injuries. In addition, the student will have a basic understanding of bandaging and splinting. This will provide the student with the necessary skills to save a life.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN I (EMT I)

Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT) course is for those individuals who desire more training than basic first aid. This is the first step in a medical career. Many health care professionals have started as EMT's (doctors, nurses, paramedics, etc.). Participants receive an American Heart Association BLS - CPR certification and will also be trained in AED.

This course is in line with the State Fire Marshal and provides the participants with a State Certification. The course is 127 hours of instruction.

" Didactic portion of the class includes lecture on all aspects of basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and treatment guidelines.

" Skills portion of the class is designed to provide the student with actual experience of dealing with patients. This is a hands on approach to the skills you will use in the field. The participant must pass the skills examination prior to taking the certifying exam.

" Field observation is a part of the course in which the participant rides with an Ambulance. This provides additional insight to job activities.

There are no prerequisites prior to enrolling.

In addition, participants will receive an American Heart Association BLS CPR certification. The participant will also be trained in Automatic External Defibrillation. All included in your course.

PLEASE NOTE: LINK 2 LIFE Emergency Training is under no obligation to verify eligibility for EMT certification. There are no prerequisites, but you must be 18 years of age or older and not precluded from certification for reasons defined in Section 1798.200 of the California Health and Safety Code.

Additionally, if ineligibility is determined, LINK 2 LIFE Emergency Training, Inc. will not provide any refund of fees paid for the EMT course. Link to EMT Quizzes
